Writer Gloria Anzaldúa is a major Mexican American literary voice. In this, a collaboration with Latin American illustrator Consuelo Méndez, they have captured the hardship of life on the border, the beauty of the land, and the dignity and generosity that the Mexican Americans and immigrants share.
